heritage
The blyth+blyth name has been a stalwart of the UK’s construction industry since 1848, when Benjamin Hall Blyth began his civil engineering practice in Edinburgh. In these early years, the company was engaged in the development of Scotland’s road and rail infrastructure and was responsible for the design of many notable works including Edinburgh’s North Bridge, Edinburgh Waverly and Glasgow Central Railway Stations.
The Firm’s activities grew and varied through the 20th century as the infrastructure network matured and focus turned to the improvement, replacement and development of building stock of all kinds. During this period, the blyth+blyth name remained at the forefront of construction and has been constantly regarded amongst the most capable and respected engineering practices in the UK.
